How to achieve clear skin in 10 steps

How to achieve clear skin in 10 steps

Some people are familiar with it: puberty is long gone, but the spots are still there. This is caused by hormonal changes, which is why the skin struggles with blemishes, especially during puberty. However, few people know that many adults also suffer from so-called late acne.
The best way to combat blemishes varies depending on your skin type - dry or oily skin or even a combination of both. We have therefore compiled general skin care tips that are suitable for different skin types to help you get blemishes under control again. If you still don't know what to do and are unsure which skin care is suitable, you can also consult a dermatologist. Here are our ultimate instant helpers that are guaranteed to help you better understand the problem and combat it effectively:

1. avoid squeezing pimples
A pimple indicates trapped oil, sebum or bacteria in the pore. However, the body's healing process starts directly to eliminate pimples naturally. Squeezing a pimple would immediately interrupt this process. In addition, the fluids released expose the surrounding skin to similar bacteria, which increases the risk of further pimples forming - and of course we don't want that. Damage to the surface of the skin can also result in permanent scars. So whenever possible, avoid popping the pimples yourself!

2. wash your face twice a day
Dermatologists recommend washing your face at least twice a day. In addition, sweat should be washed off again after every sports session or similar exertion, as this dries out the skin and makes existing acne even worse. It is best to wash your face in the morning and evening and as soon as possible after sweating.

3. cream your face daily
Not only blemished skin, but also all other skin types benefit from daily moisturizing after cleansing. The added moisture helps to regulate our skin's sebum production and protect it even more from external environmental influences. If you have oily skin, you should use a light daily moisturizer, such as GINZAI 24H Moisturising Cream. If you tend to have dry skin, use a rich day cream such as GINZAI Firming Day Cream and Firming Night Cream in combination.

4. avoid touching your face
Touching your face with your hands can deposit dirt, oils and bacteria on the skin, clogging the pores and leading to blemishes or acne. So make sure you wash and disinfect your hands frequently. The same applies to your cell phone, which is often found on our faces and can transmit an unimaginable amount of bacteria. So: don't touch!

5. apply sun protection
The sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays damage the skin and can cause negative effects. The keratinization of the skin caused by UV radiation means that sebum cannot drain away properly. This can result in visible blemishes and inflammatory acne. Applying sunscreen lotion every time you go outside ensures that your skin is protected from the harmful rays that also cause premature signs of ageing. For daily UV protection, you can apply our GINZAI 24H Moisturizing Cream, which provides natural UV protection thanks to the forest ginseng it contains. As soon as you go sunbathing, you should also use a sun protection lotion.

6. use mild care products
If you are already struggling with sensitive and blemished skin, it is better to use mild skin care products, which do not irritate the skin like conventional skin care products. You should avoid these products to protect your skin from impurities and irritation:

  • Alcohol-based care products
  • Facial toner containing alcohol
  • Aggressive peelings
  • Astringents (substances that are used to treat wounds)
  •
If you are trying out a new product, it is always important to test a small area of skin for reactions and tolerance before applying a product to a larger area. GINZAI skincare products, for example, have been dermatologically tested on neurodermatitis sufferers and others, which is why we promise that our products are highly tolerable. You can find our gentle and hypoallergenic alternatives for you here and here a complete skincare routine for blemished skin.

    7. avoid hot water
Showering, bathing or washing your hands and face with very hot water can severely dry out the skin. Dry skin tends to become more calloused and this can easily clog the pores. The sebum produced cannot drain away properly, which promotes blemishes and acne. Therefore, if you often notice dry patches of skin after bathing, try using lukewarm water instead.

    8. drink enough water
Certain toxins in our body can also cause skin blemishes and spots. Drinking enough water can flush these toxins out of the body and ensure clear and clean skin. In addition, our skin is closest to the environment and therefore most at risk of losing its moisture to the outside. When we drink enough water, we help our body to retain moisture in our skin cells again and support them in their natural processes. And last but not least: All cells in our body need water to function properly.

    9. eat a healthy diet

A healthy and nutrient-rich diet is important for the whole body and can also benefit the skin! Adequate plant-based foods and lean protein sources provide the nutrients our skin needs to be and look healthy.

However, to achieve clear skin, you should also avoid certain problematic foods, such as excessive consumption of dairy products. For each person, however, different foods can trigger blemishes or make them worse. Listen to your body's signs, it will show you what is good for it and what you should avoid. It's important to find what works for you and not for everyone else.

    10. pay attention to your well-being
Minimizing stress and taking care of our well-being should be part of our everyday lives, but we know it's not that easy. However, stress can increase inflammatory compounds in the body, leading to blemishes or an acne breakout. That's why it's important to find your own ways to keep stress levels low. Here are our favorite stress management techniques:

  • Exercise regularly
  • Try massages or acupuncture
  • Meditation or breathing exercises
  • Exercise activities such as yoga or tai chi
  • Walks in the countryside
  • Writing a diary

  • Our conclusion:
We definitely don't need aggressive products to achieve clear skin! There are a variety of methods and tips to easily control blemishes and acne from the comfort of your own home.
